Las Vegas Crime Index by Neighborhood (2026)

Our analysis of reported crime across the Las Vegas metro, mapped to 90 cities, master-planned communities, and named neighborhoods. Rates expressed per 1,000 residents based on a synthesis of LVMPD, Henderson PD, Boulder City PD, and Nye County Sheriff's Office reporting indices.

The five safest Vegas-metro neighborhoods (lowest reported property crime per 1k residents):

Boulder City, Blue Diamond, Mount Charleston, Summerlin West, The Ridges. These areas combine HOA-enforced standards, lower-density development, and proactive private security patrols.

The five Vegas-metro neighborhoods with highest reported property crime per 1k residents:

Downtown Las Vegas, Charleston Heights, Westside, North Town, The Strip. These areas show meaningfully higher property-crime exposure and disproportionate benefit from monitored security with verified-response cameras.

How to Read This Table

Property crime here includes residential burglary, vehicle theft, and theft from vehicles. Violent crime is reported separately. Rates are normalized per 1,000 residents for cross-area comparison. This index is derived from public-source crime reporting and should be read as a relative ranking, not a precise rate.

What This Means for Home Security

In the highest-risk tier-D areas, monitored security with verified-response cameras and two-way audio delivers measurable benefit: dispatch arrives 30–50% faster for verified events versus unverified alarms. In tier-A areas, monitored security is more often about insurance discounts, smart-home integration, and peace of mind than break-in defense — but the cost differential is modest enough that most homeowners install something.

Methodology

This index synthesizes reported property and violent crime rates across LVMPD, HPD, BCPD, NCSO, and NLVPD jurisdictions, normalized per capita and assigned to neighborhood-level geography using ZIP-code mapping and census tract overlays. Where multiple agencies serve overlapping geography, we use the primary patrolling agency. Rates are relative and intended for cross-neighborhood comparison, not as a precise per-capita statistic.
